Partial Hospitalization.
Often clients coming out of a traumatic time of drug and/or alcohol abuse are in need of Partial Hospitalization (PHP). Treatment services in this level of care are tailored to acute cases of abuse disorder, and clients are provided a stable setting with healthcare practitioners working alongside the individual to find the next right step towards recovery.

What is a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)?
Partial hospitalization programs are a form of outpatient addiction treatment. Outpatient treatment is often regarded as less intensive than inpatient; however, PHP provides the highest level of outpatient care.
During a PHP at Sanctuary, patients will attend treatment sessions for several hours a day, several times per week. It’s vital that these patients have a stable and reliable home for day-to-day life, and Sanctuary provides this to our clients.
Partial hospitalization programs include: drug counseling, individual and group therapy, medical care, and medication as needed.
Who Should Attend a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)?
Individuals who meet the following criteria would benefit from a PHP at Sanctuary Recovery Centers:
- The individual would benefit from medical supervision, but does not need it around the clock
- Needs more support than a traditional outpatient program would provide, but less than an inpatient program
- Has a reliable or stable home environment and transportation to and from treatment (though we do have transportation options)
- Has a support system
- Needs time to attend work, school, or to care for children
- Does not have severe symptoms of withdrawal
